The CW 40 filter cartridge contains an innovative filter medium made of activated carbon (Activated Carbon Composite ACC) with a special fiber to protect against germs. The raw material for activated carbon is coconut shells. The combination and the matrix used achieve a significant increase in filter effectiveness. Protected by patent law. In addition to the carbon block, a hollow fiber membrane with an absolute filter fineness of 0.1 micrometers is integrated as a post-filter. The membrane meets the microbiological requirements of the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency). The membrane has a very low pressure loss at high capacity thanks to an extremely large surface structure. These are suitable as germ barriers with a reduction of at least 6-log levels (i.e. >99.9999%) to prevent germ nests, biofilm formation, etc. Further practical tests of the CW40 replacement cartridge[0.8µm carbon block with a terminal 0.1µm MF- Membrane] were carried out by an independent laboratory and the effectiveness was confirmed.
